So...I did go see THE GREAT GATSBY (2013) on Friday, but I don't really care to do a review. That's not really what I do, for one thing. For another, I love to write about things that I love. Sometimes, I like to write about things that I hate. I'm not really motivated to write about things that are just there.
And that's what this film was for me. I didn't hate every minute. I didn't love it. It was just kind of passable.
If you want some reviews from people who write reviews, here are a couple that I've enjoyed:
Instead. I thought I'd ask for your thoughts on the film. Have you been? Are you going to go? What are your expectations?
A lot of the film reviews I've read mention that this is the fourth time that Gatsby has been (mostly unsuccessfully) turned into a film. Many are calling it an unfilmable book. Since you've all just read it...what do you think? It's an incredibly cinematic book...one of the most visual books I've ever read...so why is it so hard to turn it into a decent film? If you were going to make a film adaptation, where would you start?
